We track all 165 restaurants on Martha's Vineyard, and only a handful of the listings have a photograph. If you have a good one — the dining room, the counter, the lobster roll you were about to eat — it would genuinely help the next person deciding where to go.

You keep the copyright. We just ask permission, in plain English, before we use it.

MV Restaurants — Photo Contribution Permission (v2.0)

You keep the copyright to your photo. Always. This is permission, not a sale,
and it is not exclusive — you remain free to use, sell or license your photo
anywhere else, to anyone, at any time.

By submitting, you give MV Restaurants permission to:

1. Show the photo on mvrestaurants.com and on related pages we operate.
2. Include it in our email newsletter and in social media posts about the
   island dining scene.
3. Reproduce it in printed material we publish — for example a printed dining
   guide, map, poster or flyer.
4. Resize, crop, compress, and colour-correct it so it fits those layouts.
   We will not distort the subject or add anything misleading to it.

We will credit you by the name you give us wherever the format reasonably
allows. Some printed layouts credit contributors in a single list rather than
beside each photo.

This permission is worldwide, royalty-free, and lasts for as long as the guide
does. We will not pay you for the photo, and you are not obliged to submit one.

If MV Restaurants changes hands

Guides get sold, merged, or handed on. If mvrestaurants.com or the business
behind it is ever transferred to someone else, this permission goes with it to
whoever runs the guide next — and so does everything promised to you here: your
copyright stays yours, your credit stays on the photo, and your right to
withdraw keeps working exactly as it does today.

We may also hand the photo to the people who help us publish it — a printer, a
designer, the social platforms we post on — strictly so they can do that job.

What we will not do, now or after any sale: put your photo in a stock library,
or license it to some unrelated company for their own use. The permission only
ever travels with the guide itself.

You confirm that:
  • You took the photo, or you otherwise hold the rights to license it.
  • Anyone clearly identifiable in it is aware and has no objection.
  • The photo is genuinely of the place you say it is.

You can withdraw this permission at any time. The email we send when your photo
arrives carries a link that does it in one click, and
[email protected] works too. We will stop using the photo and remove it
from the website. We cannot recall material that has already been printed and
distributed, so withdrawal applies to future use.

We are not obliged to publish anything you send, and we may remove any photo
at any time for any reason.

Your email address is used only to contact you about this photo. It is not
added to any mailing list unless you separately ask for that.

Nothing is published automatically — a person reviews every photo. You can ask us to remove it at any time by emailing [email protected].
