About Orange Peel Bakery
A Wampanoag-owned bakery run by Juli Vanderhoop, a former commercial pilot who came home to her native land. When it is open: wood-fired bread, sweet pastries, cakes and scones on an honour system, where you serve yourself and pay for what you take, cash or Venmo. Pizza night has been Wednesday 5–8 PM from the wood-fired oven. It has also stocked flour, eggs and milk for locals, kept bees on the property and shipped nationwide, and in winter it has been just about the only food in Aquinnah.
